Diamond Weave Arm Binder

Eve's notes about the Diamond Weave Arm Binder

The Diamond Weave Arm Binder makes use of the famous hishi (diamond) pattern to restrain the arms behind the back. The hishi pattern is a staple in Shibari and is used in all kinds of ties ranging from hip and waist ties such as the Diamond Shorts, all the way to chest harnesses with the Hishi Chest Harness and Hishi Karada.

In this case, the hishi pattern does more than decorate the tie. The diamonds are used to restrain the arms and to evenly distribute tension along the arms.

For the person being tied, having their arms immobilized behind their back while extended can become uncomfortable. This is true for all Arm Binders (Including the Arm Binder, and Elbow Harness). It is important that they pay close attention to how they are feeling. If their arms or hands start to go numb, it is time to adjust the tie. Make it easy for them to share when they are starting to feel a tingling sensation in their extremities by asking them every once in a while how they are feeling.

Make sure you both watch our knot tightness and position lesson before beginning your Shibari journey. Shibari is a fun and deeply enjoyable activity, but it is not without risk. Understanding these risks and knowing how to prevent them is paramount for a successful Shibari session.

Have fun tying!
