Quick Cuffs 2.0

Eve's notes about the Quick Cuffs 2.0

These quick cuffs can be viewed as the first cousin of the prusik head double column tie. You will observe that they both exemplify the principle of using friction as a means to keep the ropes in place when under tension.

In this case, you will assemble a coil using your fingers for the ropes to go through to create the cuffs. These cuffs can be easily adjusted to the desired tightness and position.

It might take a while for you to trust that friction is enough to keep the cuffs in place. I strongly recommend you try these on yourself to understand just how sturdy they are.

Understanding how to use friction as a means to keep your ties in place will make you a better Shibari practitioner. Having several ways to create the knots that produce friction in your toolbox will allow you to be more creative when performing your own creations.

The prusik head double column tie and these quick cuffs are not the only ways to use friction to create a double column tie. Explore more ways to create this effect and if you find anything really cool, we would love to hear about it.

Have fun tying!
