Hexagon Chest Harness

Eve's notes about the Hexagon Chest Harness

The Hexagon Chest Harness is hands down my favorite chest harness of all time. I love how elegant and unique it looks. You will notice that, unlike most Shibari ties that use a set of two ropes that go around the body, the Hexagon Chest Harness uses two single strands mirroring each other to create the hexagon in the middle of the chest. I consider this a difficult tie because the construction of the hexagon is not as intuitive as the diamond pattern we usually use. It takes an experienced Shibari practitioner to really understand and predict how the ropes will flow.

The hexagon pattern is a modern addition to Shibari patterns, building on the traditional "hishi"/ diamond pattern we have used in previous ties such as the Hishi Chest Harness and Hishi Karada. The geometric precision of the hexagon adds a captivating visual element that is both aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound.

In this tie, the hexagon is carefully crafted to embrace the natural curves of the body, highlighting the beauty and strength of the person being tied. It's a tie that not only looks sophisticated but also feels secure and supportive to the wearer. As you work through the pattern, remember to maintain even tension and symmetry, ensuring that the hexagon is as symmetrical as possible.

This tie, although intricate, is surprisingly adaptable. Whether you're tying on a curvy or lean body, the hexagon can be adjusted in size to fit perfectly. This adaptability makes the Hexagon Chest Harness a wonderful choice for showcasing the diversity of bodies and the inclusivity of Shibari.

As always, communication with your partner is key. Check in with them frequently to ensure their comfort and to share in the experience. Remember, Shibari is not just about the physical ties, but also about the connection and trust you build with your partner.

The Hexagon Chest Harness, with its blend of modern geometry and traditional Shibari technique, is a testament to the evolving art of rope tying. It represents how ancient practices can be refreshed and reimagined . I encourage you to embrace this tie not just as a technique, but as a journey of exploration into what Shibari can become.

Have fun tying!
