Chain Stitch Corset

Eve's notes about the Chain Stitch Corset

By now, the chain-stitch technique should sound familiar. You have encountered it before in the Chain Stitch Single Column Tie, the Loop-chain Stockings, the Loop-chain Chest Harness, and the Loop-chain Dress. Plenty of Shibari ties have their roots in simple techniques. It is by mastering these techniques and using them in a creative way that rope-tying becomes art.

As a quick recap, the chain-stitch technique involves going around a single column and creating a loop. You then pass the rope through the loop but not completely to create a second loop. You will continue to pass the rope through the second loop, but not completely to create a third loop, and so on. You can use this technique to go around any single column. Try it out on you arms to create a really cool gauntlet (a sort of arm corset made out of ropes).

In the case of the Chain Stitch Corset, you will create a chain-stitch weave going around your partner's waist. It's important to be very careful about  the tightness of the corset. You want it to fit snugly without restricting your partner's ability to breathe. While weaving the corset, make sure that it is a little loose. The decorative weave that finishes this tie will tighten it. The corset can be as tall as you wish, the number of loops and turns of the rope is completely up to you.

Have fun tying!
